Lessons from a sparky

Birds are so in tune.

Somehow they know exactly when food is around. Even in the most seemingly-random open spaces, throw some crumbs in the air, and a bird or two suddenly appears.

They have learned how to be proactive, aware of their environment, and watchful for what they are about to receive. They respond to the possibilities set before them without fear of the reaction. This sparky is a regular on the balcony, and is a reminder to be thankful for what's already been provided and for what's in store.

Matthew 10:13
So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

With this revelation, I hope to grow in gratitude each day. A tiny sparky / sparrow trusts that everything it needs is supplied, which it is, so then we, who are "more than valuable that a whole flock of sparrows" are called to be much more thankful for what we have, and for what we are about to receive.

Seeing the sunshine beyond every storm, and even the smallest spark of light in any season of darkness, holding onto the truth that our needs are already being fulfilled. It's gratitude that awakens us to this.
