A mini-holiday at sweet SunBay Hotel (Barbados)

Hiya, hope your week’s started on a bright note and if it happens to be a tough time for you, that refreshment is right around the corner or even just a breath away. This weekend, I had a mini-holiday at SunBay Hotel, on the south coast of Barbados. It was a light writing assignment (this) that came with some rest and refreshment. Pretty timely, after the recent guest podcast post and today being “Labor Day” in the U.S. (just realized that.)

Here’s a video to share a bit of the SunBay experience, and some pics from early morning walks.

All rooms come with a/c, cable tv, phone, wi-fi plus a patio, and the 3star hotel is less than 15 minutes drive from Grantley Adams International Airport.

The pools are nestled in a simple yet beautiful green garden that also traces the border of Palm View Restaurant & Bar.

It was two days holiday and I was booked to coach sessions this afternoon, a few hours after check-out. Paced it well, so everything worked out sweet – without a rush (ever mentioned how I like to be on time but am not a fan of rushing?)

These beautiful flowers trace the bottom of their resident tree each morning. Flowers fade and die, but we can still appreciate them while they and their fragrance last.

It’s like I forgot how much swimming exhilarates me…thankful for the reminder and determined to get on track again with healthy activities that also make for good exercise and deep refreshed breaths.

If you’re traveling to Barbados, and looking for a quiet and serene spot to stay on the south coast…

staff highlight: Lyn-Marie (at front desk) and Desiree & Shanique (restaurant team) and everyone who made sure the room was clean, breakfast prepped, and stay enjoyable.
