A bright new day to all of you,
Have you ever wondered what ‘perseverance‘ actually means, and why our approach to it so very important to life in general, and our journey as an entrepreneur?
Introducing a new guest in the “Celebrate A Sister” series – Faith Bascombe, a trained nail technician and entrepreneur in Barbados.
Faith also happens to be a social worker and rehab therapist, along with being the owner of Nails ExQuisite, by the way. In today’s post, Faith shines a light that leads to the root of what perseverance is, so the fruit of it can be better reflected and expressed through our life’s work.
Our guest shares about her inspiration to start a business and offers memorable gems of encouragement with you and I.
Without further ado…
“My inspiration for coming up with this business really stemmed from a passion for nail technology. I always loved to have my nails done and I actually enjoy polishing my own nails – it is quite relaxing.
These coupling of things caused me to pursue a nail course. When I did the course, it really was to satisfy that desire of wanting to learn as it related to the world of nail art, and out of that, Nails ExQuisite was born. The business services both females and males.

Going through this whole process of business and growing a business – sometimes it can be quite frustrating.
I just want to encourage you, ladies, as you traverse on this path of growth and development particularly in your business, and even personally to…
Most of us are familiar with the word ‘perseverance.’ Maybe it makes you think about someone who has been relentless in pursuit a particular goal or someone who stays true to their diet on the holidays – you have your own personal idea of what perseverance is – you are the one on your relentless pursuit of a particular goal, and
you are persevering
The Greeks give us a little more insight into the original language and meaning of that word. The word translated means ‘cheerful‘ or ‘hopeful endurance‘ or consistency.
Enduring with cheer
It is one thing to keep going no matter what. It is something more beautiful to do so cheerfully and hopefully.
As we pursue that thing that God has placed in our hands, may we have that cheerful and hopeful endurance and consistency, so that our gift and our talent will be something beautiful as we release it to our client and our customers.”
James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.“
